No card details, no deposit, nothing to pay. The demo is completely free—you get virtual credits that reset when you refresh.

You're playing the real game, not a dumbed-down version. This is software version 1.6.1.8, the same engine used for real money. Same RNG, same mathematics, identical behaviour. The only difference is your balance.

No registration needed. No spin limit, no timer. Work out how the free spins trigger and what the fisherman catch feature does before you risk anything.

When you switch to real play, nothing changes. The game won't suddenly feel different. Because it isn't different.

There's nothing obviously special about Fishin' Frenzy - 5 reels, 10 lines, straightforward free spins where a fisherman catches fish for cash prizes. Yet this 2014 release from Reel Time Gaming became such a UK phenomenon that it's spawned eight sequels, each layering on Megaways engines, Fortune Play mechanics, and increasingly baroque variations. The original remains stubbornly popular a decade on. What it does is execute a single concept with unusual clarity: in the bonus, every fisherman symbol collects every fish value on screen, turning a simple visual metaphor into transparent maths you can actually track. No cascades, no mystery modifiers, no feature-within-feature complexity - just fishing that works like fishing should.

How To Play

Fishin' Frenzy uses a straightforward control setup typical of Reel Time Gaming slots, though the interface keeps everything accessible without cluttering the screen.

Setting Your Bet

Before your first spin, you'll need to configure your stake. Look for the coins button on the right sidebar (or the TOTAL BET button depending on your casino's interface). Click it to open the betting menu, where you'll see a list of available stake amounts ranging from £0.10 to £100 (or currency equivalent). The game uses 10 paylines that are always active, so you're selecting the total bet rather than configuring individual lines and bet-per-line separately.

Some versions let you adjust lines (1-10) and bet per line independently through the same menu. If you see "SELECT LINES" and "SELECT BET" options, set your preferred number of active lines first, then choose your bet per line. Your total stake (lines × bet per line) displays clearly and gets deducted from your balance each spin.

Spinning the Reels

Once your bet's configured, press the circular arrow button (spin) to start the reels. They'll spin and stop automatically from left to right. If you're impatient, you can press the button again during the spin—it changes to a fast-forward icon—and the reels will stop immediately. This doesn't affect the outcome, just speeds up the reveal.

Using Autoplay

The circular arrows button (usually marked with a "C") opens the autoplay menu. Select how many spins you want to run automatically—options typically include 10, 25, 50, or 100 spins. Once activated, the game counts down your remaining autospins on the button itself.

Important: autoplay automatically stops when you trigger the free spins bonus, hit any loss limit you've set, or if you manually press the stop button (square icon). You can resume autoplay by pressing spin again, or switch back to manual play.

Quick Reference

The right sidebar houses your three main controls from top to bottom: refresh (game reset), autoplay settings, and bet menu. Everything else happens automatically—wins highlight on the reels, and the paytable's accessible through the menu if you need to check symbol values mid-session.

Symbols & Payouts

Fishin' Frenzy uses a 10-payline setup where wins form from left to right on consecutive reels. Here's what each symbol pays based on your bet per line:

Symbol 5 of a Kind 4 of a Kind 3 of a Kind 2 of a Kind
Pelican symbol Pelican (brown and white bird)
400,000 40,000 10,000 1,000
Fishing Rod symbol Fishing Rod (yellow rod with reel)
200,000 30,000 6,000
Life Preserver Ring symbol Life Preserver Ring (orange and white striped ring)
100,000 20,000 4,000
Tackle Box symbol Tackle Box (green fishing box)
100,000 20,000 4,000
Card symbols A, K, Q, J, 10 A, K, Q, J, 10 (standard card symbols)
20,000 5,000 1,000

The Pelican's the top payer in the base game, and it's the only symbol that pays from just two matching symbols.

Wild Symbol – The Fisherman

Fisherman Wild symbol - smiling man in green vest and orange shirt holding large golden fish

Here's the thing about the Wild: you won't see it during regular spins. The Fisherman – shown as a smiling man in a green vest and orange shirt holding a large golden fish – only appears during the Free Games feature.

When he does show up, he substitutes for everything except the Boat scatter. But his real job is catching fish, which we'll get to in the bonus section.

Scatter Symbol – The Boat

Boat Scatter symbol marked with SCATTER text

The Boat (marked with "SCATTER" text) doesn't pay credits like regular symbols. Instead, it triggers the Free Games feature. You need at least three of these anywhere on the reels to start the bonus.

Fish Symbols

Fish symbols with monetary values

Fish symbols appear on the reels with monetary values attached to them: 20, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, or 500. In the base game, they don't do anything. They only become relevant during Free Games when the Fisherman's around to catch them.

Free Games Feature

Free Games Feature

Land three, four, or five Boat scatters anywhere on the reels and you'll trigger Free Games:

During these free spins, the entire dynamic shifts. The Fisherman Wild starts appearing on the reels, and here's where it gets interesting: every time a Fisherman lands, he collects the prize value from every Fish symbol currently visible on screen.

So if you've got Fish symbols showing 100, 250, and 50, and a Fisherman lands anywhere, you win 400 credits (100 + 250 + 50). If two Fishermen appear on the same spin, each one collects from all the Fish – meaning that 400 gets counted twice.

The Fisherman also forms winning combinations himself during the feature:

Fishermen Payout
5 5,000
4 500
3 100
2 10

And he still substitutes for all regular symbols (except the Boat scatter), helping create standard payline wins.

One limitation: Free Games can't retrigger. Once you're in the feature, landing more Boat scatters won't add extra spins. The feature runs through whatever spins you were awarded initially, then returns you to the base game with your accumulated winnings.

The free spins play at the same bet level and number of lines as the spin that triggered them.
